John M. Scholte, M.Div., is the Senior Pastor of Arcadia Community Church in Arcadia, California. Previously he served on the pastoral staff of Rancho Bernardo Community Church. Prior to serving these two pastorates he owned Scholte Consulting Services, a company specializing in assisting churches, missionaries, and non-profit organizations with: fund raising, Mission and Vision Statements, church health and growth, conflict management and resolution, short- and long-term strategic planning, and staff and board development training. He has been adjunct Assistant Professor of Religion at Grossmont College for the past twenty-five years, where he received the Excellence in Teaching Award, and currently serves as a Senator in the Academic Senate.

He was the founder of Legacy Corps San Diego working with the University of Maryland Center on Aging, Aging & Independent Services County of San Diego, and AmeriCorps establishing the nation’s first intergenerational respite care program. Prior to heading up Legacy Corps, he developed the Marketing and Public Relations division of the largest non-profit retirement community in San Diego.

He began his career providing demographic studies for denominations seeking to start churches across the country. Later he started a church for the Reformed Church in America in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Hope College with a bachelor’s degree in Religion and Communications and holds a master’s degree from Western Theological Seminary.

Kimberley is the TridentCare Area Operations Manager for Los Angeles County. A company that performs mobile imaging and lab services. As a hobby she enjoys the art of cooking and has been teaching cooking classes for several years in schools, private classes, and church.  She has a cooking show “Cooking with Kimberley” featured on YouTube. She also bred and showed Mastiffs for many years. Together Kimberley and John have a blended family of five kids. Together they love to travel and enjoy following professional rodeo and doing Overlanding adventures. 

Their oldest son, John Scholte, is a Senior SOC Analyst at Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc in Las Vegas, NV. He has been working in the Cybersecurity field for several years and still loving it. He believes nothing is more satisfying than finding something abnormal and tracking down its cause. John is a big fan of digital privacy and encryption and enjoys using his knowledge/experience to help people stay safe online.

Rebecca Scholte, their oldest daughter, is an accountant for Stachs LLC in Eureka, California. She enjoys hiking the redwoods, running, listening to music, watching movies and hanging out at the beach. Her favorite quote is "Happiness can be found in the darkest of places, if one only remembers to turn on the light." -Dumbledore

Their second daughter Jennie Mae was recently married to Joey Osinsky, who is a police officer, and she is a Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

Their second son Thomas Poole is a student at Miramar College in San Diego. He is a Docent on the world’s oldest active sailing ship the Star of India. He is an advocate for Autism, often sharing about his own life as a person with autism.  

Their youngest son Jacob Poole is attending Grossmont College on line. He is active in archery and enjoys gaming. Jacob also appreciates photography and is one of the photographers for the Bridge Contemporary Worship at Arcadia Community Church.
